Bringing HOPE to Widows

Our Mission:

To bring Hope and Healing to widows and their families
and to walk with widows from Surviving to Thriving :
mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

“Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for widows in their distress.”

- James 1 : 27

“Father of orphans,
champion of widows,
is God in his holy house.”

- Psalm 68 : 5

Our Story

two moms, two widows, two friends

Erin and Jill became friends after the sudden and tragic loss of their husbands.

What they soon discovered was how lonely, isolating and hard it was to be thrown into a life of grief while still raising children who were also grieving without resources to support them.

They began this ministry as a way to build community and help other widows on their journey toward wholeness and healing.

Our Goal

Our main goal is to provide support and encouragement to fellow widows during the
darkest days and beyond.

We want widows to know that they are not alone and help them feel supported, seen and dare we say...

What We Do

  • Hope Stockings

Hope Stockings is a one-of-a-kind gift initiative specifically for widows.

Christmas morning can be one of the hardest days of the year and we want to make sure that every widow has something special just for her under her tree.

Each year we send hundreds of stockings across the United States to widows who are in need of and deserve a gift just for them! The stockings are stuffed full with items that bring healing, comfort and fun into their lives.

Join us this holiday season and
bless a widow or two or three!

  • Practical Support

Two Small Coins helps widows navigate day to day tasks and unexpected obstacles that arise.

We all have a big to-do list and as a widow, that list is quadrupled.
Widows have to manage their regular commitments, the gaps their husbands absence leaves, the endless paperwork a death creates and the unexpected curve balls that are thrown at them.

We work to connect widows with trusted vendors and resources within our community to make sure they are getting the help they need. Some of these support areas include grief groups, churches, handymen, contractors, insurance agents, attorneys, healthcare providers, therapists, etc.

  • Coaching Program

Two Small Coins offers every widow in our community a chance to be seen, to be heard and to heal.

We know how lonely, isolating and hard it is to be thrown into a life of grief while also navigating the grief of our loved ones, especially our children.

Erin is a licensed Coach and Art Therapy Practitioner who specializes in grief and trauma. She provides one-on-one and group support to our widow community helping them process their grief and move forward from simply surviving to fully thriving!

Your donations to our organization help provide this vital resource to widows free of charge.

*Coaching is available in person and via zoom so we can reach widows where they are.

Our Founders

  • My name is Jill, and I am a busy mom of five, a widow, a storyteller, a full-time professional writer, a part-time dream writer, and a dedicated cheerleader for all the people at all the things. I am also the co-founder and Vice President of Two Small Coins. I am an active member of our local Never-Alone Widows community, as well as the Proverbs 31 COMPEL writers’ group. In my free time, I love to read or spend time with friends and loved ones. I have always had a heart to serve others, and as I learn more and more along this widow journey, I want to do everything I can to help others along the way, providing resources to lighten the everyday burdens as much as I can. My favorite thing in the world is to dive into a story- whether it is light and fun or dark and heavy- and watch to see the ways I can make an impact. My deepest desire is to bring hope through my widow story, as well as the ways God showed up in those chapters, on my blog, redballoons.blog. I love to listen to others’ stories as well. I can’t wait to meet you and hear more of yours!

Our Commitment

Walk alongside the widowed.

Bring hope to the hurting.

Care for the grieving.

Lessen the burdens of the overwhelmed.
